Disaster Area

I know it's been a while since my last entry. Two reasons, Tropical Hurricane Frances and my mom accidentally cut the telephone lines off.
First, Frances hit Thomaston, Georgia, Monday night at 10 pm. The wind was powerful and at 11 pm it knocked out my houses electricity. I woke up at 6 o'clock Tuesday morning and opened the door for my sister, Julie, who had just got back from Missouri at 12 that night. It turned out that no one in Thomaston had power; Julie said my school was also closed for the day.
My mom got dressed and went to work even though she was not able to take her morning shower. I had absolutely nothing to do that day. All I had was a radio and my dog and cat. I mean there was absolutely nothing to do whatsoever.
I went back to school Wednesday even though I didn’t want to. Finally we got back power Wednesday at 1 pm.
That afternoon the alarm system that has not been used for 5 years decided it wanted to work. Its alarm went blaring! It was so loud it made my ears ring. My mom, who was aggravated as always, went up under the house and turned it off, well that didn’t help, so she got out a hammer and tour that thing out of the wall! She got out pliers and cut the wrong wire but it did make it shut up. She cut the telephone wire and we had no phone! I think I was about to die!
We got that problem fixed today, thank you Lord!
